On IF Answers, should the question itself mention the development system?

If it would be helpful I can edit some of the existing questions to add, for instance, "in Inform 7" to the actual question, in cases where the development system is mentioned only in the tag or in the additional info.

I think the tag is sufficient to say what development system the question is about - I can't see any value in duplicating this information by adding it to the text of the question.

I was thinking it might make it a bit easier/faster to see if a question is relevant, for instance, when you are asking a question and you're told to make sure your question was not already asked. The list of similar questions that pops up does not show tags. The related questions that pop up on the side bar don't show tags, either. But it's not a huge deal.

In my opinion, yes, as it's such little effort to add the development platform, and there isn't really any drawback to doing so. Besides, mentioning version number may also be helpful if this site is still up after features have become obsolete or more effective methods of solving a certain problem are added to the software.

I'm not sure about this. From my experience on Stack Exchange there are times when it helps and times when it's not needed. I'd suggest we wait and see how things go for a month or so before formalising a policy.
